Choose the stay around your days

Tell us whether you want beach time, swimming, marine activities, cultural visits or a mixture. Beaches differ in their tidal character and surroundings. Ask about the location and transfer time, not only the room photographs.

Make time for Stone Town

Stone Town is an inscribed UNESCO World Heritage Site with a long history of Swahili and Indian Ocean exchange. A guided visit can help you understand the buildings and histories beyond their appearance. A separate town night can reduce the need for a long beach-to-town day trip.

Explore beyond the shoreline

Spice-farm visits and suitable marine excursions can add variety to a coast stay. Confirm what each activity includes, how long the transfer takes and whether conditions are suitable. Wildlife encounters and boat departures should never be treated as guarantees.

Travel respectfully

Dress respectfully in towns and villages, ask before photographing people, and follow local guidance around religious customs. Beaches are also working places for coastal communities.

Check the inbound insurance requirement

Foreign visitors to Zanzibar, excluding residents, must obtain the required inbound cover through Zanzibar Insurance Corporation’s official portal. An existing travel policy should not be assumed to replace it. Separately check that your broader insurance covers the activities in your itinerary.

Travel requirements and local conditions can change. Reconfirm the details relevant to your journey before departure.
